Be Still

Many of us are "doers" or "fixers". We see something that we think needs doing and we do it. We see something that we think needs fixing and we fix it. We see someone that is hurting and we think we have the answer to make them feel better.

But sometimes we do without really looking at what we are doing. Without really thinking about whether it is our place to be doing. Without really praying to find out whether or not it is God's will that we "do" at that moment. What we are doing is from our own nature and not from God's, and the end result is not quite the best one.

Pray about this. These words come to mind -
Be still.
How simple. Be still.
Be still and know that I am God.
Be still.
Listen.
Be still.

Dear God. Your words are so simple but we do struggle with them. Help us to be still. To be still and listen. To be still and know your will. To be still and know that you are God. Because when we are still and can listen and can hear, then what we do is from you and not from ourselves. Amen
